Fremont Conservation District Awards

Fremont Conservation District is proud to announce our new Conservation Awards Program! There are two Award Categories:

The STEWARDSHIP AWARD is open to any group or individual landowner within the Fremont Conservation District boundaries. The purpose of the award is to recognize and celebrate excellence in private-land natural resource conservation.

The CULTIVATION AWARD is open to any group or individual working or residing in Fremont County. The purpose of the award is to recognize and celebrate excellence in conservation education, advocation, and collaboration.

Nominations for the current year are due by December 31st. Awards will be presented the following spring at the Fremont Conservation District Annual Banquet.

Bloomin' Buddies Floral Design Classes

FCD was happy to partner with Touch of Love Florist for another summer of Bloomin' Buddies Classes. At each class Fremont Conservation District gave an educational presentation on pollinators and their importance. Touch of Love Florist then hosted a floral arrangement class where kids made their own bouquets to take home! This summer saw our largest turnout yet, with 33 total particiapants across three classes. Fremont Conservation Disitrct was proud to sponsor class scholarships for 25 of 33 participants this year.  

 

Campy Rocky 2024

Camp Rocky is an week long residential camp located in Divide, Colorado. This year, it was held the week of July 8-12. The Camp focuses on teaching 14-17 years old about various natural resource, agriculutre, and envirolnmental science topics. Fremont Conservation District was proud to contribute our River Trailer, our Ground Water Model, and our Conservation/Restoration/Recreation/Tool Trailer (CRITTER) to Camp Rocky this year.

  • Florence Farmer's Market. Thursday 8a.m.-1p.m. at Pioneer Park in Florence, CO.
  • Coaldale Schoolhouse Mountain Market. Wednesdays 4p.m.-6p.m. at Coaldale Mountain Market in Coaldale, CO. 
  • Fremont Conservation District Monthly Meeting. Wednesday September 4th, 6:00 p.m.  USDA Service Center. 248 Dozier Ave. Canon City, CO.
