Badger Creek Ranch hosts "Open Gate" Day

Rustic wooden fence, vehicles, tent structure, and cloudy sky.

On August 24th Badger Creek Ranch hosted a story-telling  session--complete with an beef chili luncheon and carriage driven ranch tour--to celebrate the past decade of watershed restoration work done by the Badger Creek Watershed Partnership. In attendance were multiple stakeholders brought together by interest in past, current, and future conservation efforts. The goal of the restoration work has been to turn the  100-square mile area from a watershed into a water "cachement" area, where the land is better suited to catch rainwater and the riparian areas along Badger Creek are encahnced to prevent erosion. Members of the partnership also share an interest in regenerative agriculture and holistic land managment practices. Stakeholders in the partnership include: Badger Creek Ranch, the Natural Resource Conservation Service,  U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, U.S. Fish and Forestry Service, Central Colorado Conservancy, Colorado State Land Board, Audobon Society,  Upper Arkansas Conservation District, Fremont Conservation District, and multiple private landowners.
