Fremont Conservation District Plants Penrose Library Garden
Fremont Conservation District was proud to partner with the Green Thumb Initiative to plant an edible garden at the Penrose Community Library. The garden will allow the library and the Green Thumb Initiative to teach various kid's gardening and healthy eating programs. Stop by the Penrose Library to check out the garden, and save the date for August 31st when the Penrose Library will be hosting the Penrose Farmer's Market!
Bloomin' Buddies Floral Design Classes
In partnership with Touch of Love florist in Canon City, these classes offer the opportunity for kids to learn about pollinators and to design their very own take home floral arrangement! Classes are open to kids ages 5 and up. Classes are will run from 11AM to Noon, and are scheduled to be held on July 17th and August 7th. Classes are $30 per student with scholarships available from the Fremont Conservation District. To register, please visit Touch of Love Florist at 1201 S. 9th Street, Canon City, CO.
Fremont Conservation District Awards
The Fremont Conservation District is proud to announce an annual Conservation Awards Program. Each year Fremont Conservation District will accept nominations in the following categories: Farmer, Rancher, Forester, Vineyard, Small Acreage Landowner, Local Business, Outstanding Project, and Outstanding Educator. To nominate a Fremont County resident for one or more of these awards, please contact our District office.
