Profiles in Conservation: Tim Morse

This month's conservation spotlight shines on Tim Morse of Canon City. Tim has a bachelor’s degree in history and a Master’s degree in Business (MBA). Tim retired from the Marine Corps and then began a career in the Aerospace industry from which he also retired. His work allowed him to travel quite extensively throughout the world. He is a first-generation rancher and has lived in Colorado since 1997. He and his wife Heather raise Hereford cattle. Tim serves as secretary/treasurer on the Fremont Conservation District Board of Supervisors. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Association of Conservation Districts representing the Upper Arkansas Watershed.
Urban Agriculture & Forestry added to District long-range plan.
At the February meeting of the Fremont Conservation District Board of Supervisors, the Board voted to amend the District's 2024-2026 Long Range Plan. The original plan included a focus on soil and water conservation efforts. The new plan expands the District's focus to also include: rangeland, urban agriculture/small acreage, and forestry conservation. The Fremont Conservation District Board of Supervisors recognizes the breadth and variation in land-types and resource concerns existing within the District boundaries. This updated plan reflects the Board's efforts to serve all land-use types of our constituent producers. Planned efforts will include pursuing external funding for targeted conservation practices and projects, expanded educational resources, and new collaborations within the Fremont County community.
